The Philippines has been participating as a guest participant to this competition since 2000. The thirty-three Philippine representatives to this contest were among the nearly eighty secondary level students who made it past the MTG's rigorous year-long training and selection process of the country's top young mathematical minds. Other secondary level competitions that the MTG Kids participated in early this year were the 2005 Asian Intercities Teenagers' Mathematics Olympiad in Bohol last May, the 2005 American Regions Mathematics League in San Jose, California last June, the 2nd China Southeast Mathematical Olympiad in Fuzhou, China last July, and the Kaohsiung 6th Invitational World Youth Mathematics Intercity Competition just recently. |
