 FINALLY! December 17, 2005 Your new and improved MTG Kids Online MTG Celebrates its 10th Anniversary December 17, 2005 Ten years. That's how long it has been since four individuals - all mathematics educators from different schools - embarked on an endeavor that would showcase the skills of the Filipino youth in math and help improve the level of math education in the country. That endeavor has of course been embodied in the organization that we've come to know as the Mathematics Trainers' Guild... MTG President Wins Prestigious International Award December 17, 2005 Just like the many MTG kids who competed in math contests abroad, Mathematics Trainers' Guild President Dr. Simon L. Chua recently made the country proud as well by winning his very own prestigious international award. Dr. Chua was selected as a recepient of the Paul Erdos Award for 2006 by the World Federation of National Mathematics Competitions (WFNMC). He is one of three awardees for 2006 and is the first Filipino ever to receive such honor... MTG-DOST-SEI Holds Math Conference for Teachers; Int'l Mathematicians Among Speakers December 17, 2005 To coincide with its 10th anniversary celebration, the Mathematics Trainers' Guild, in cooperation with the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute, held a mathematics conference for elementary and secondary math teachers in Bayview Park Hotel last October 21 to 23, 2005... MTG Kids Earn Four Bronzes in Indonesia Tilt December 17, 2005 Five members of the 2005 Mathematics Trainers' Guild Delegation to International Mathematics Competitions for the Primary Level recently made the country proud by earning four bronze medals in the recently concluded 3rd International Science and Mathematics Olympiad for Primary Schools (ISMOPS)last November 16 to 21, 2005 in Jakarta, Indonesia... *NEW SECTION!
