2006 MTG Philippine Delegation to International Mathematics Competitions

The Mathematics Trainers' Guild (MTG) culminated its year-long search for the Philippines' brightest young mathematical minds, with the 2006 MTG Young Mathematicians' Intensive In-House Training Program (YMIITP) last April. From this event, 170 students emerged to be a cut above the rest, thus earning for themselves the right to represent the country in international math competitions for the school year 2006-2007. These students, along with those named as alternates, spent the rest of their summer attending the 2006 MTG Mathematical Olympiad Summer Training Program (MOSTP), where they honed their skills further, in preparation for the contests that they shall be joining.

The 2006 YMIITP for elementary students was held last April 2 to 6 in Iloilo City, while the YMIITP for high school was held last April 9 to 13 in Antipolo. The MOSTP was held from April 18 to May 19 at the DEECO Technological Institute in Pasig City, and at the Zamboanga Chung Hua High School in Zamboanga.
